SkillsActive is the Sector Skills Council for Active Leisure and Learning. Directed by employers, SkillsActive leads the skills and productivity drive across sport and recreation, health and fitness, outdoors, playwork and caravan industries.

They wanted a design for their new blog, which they aim to use to better communicate with their target demographics. SkillsActive wanted an overall aesthetic strictly in keeping with their brand guidelines, but that worked well in a blog format. The blog was divided into 3 main areas, all of which had to be clearly marked out as individual while maintaining continuity across the whole site.

Edgar Prais

Edgar Prais are an indie-pop band from Aberdeen. Having supported the likes of The Pipettes, Delays, The Automatic and Kaiser Chiefs, as well as playing shows at festivals such as T in the Park, Rock Ness and Belladrum, they release their debut single on 30th June 2008.

The band required and visual identity that fitted their music and aesthetic. They needed a logo, website, mechandise and record artwork. So far, Nonimage has delivered a band logo, cover for the debut single Pop Song #93/Jaimie, website, T-shirts and badges.

Future work will include a bass drum skin, flyers, posters and forthcoming record artwork.

Eaglestone Landscape Design

Eaglestone Landscape Design aka Garden Design Bath produce high-quality landscape design and build in the South of England. The company had recently started, and needed an overall brand identity to place them head and shoulders above the multitude of similar companies in the area. They wanted a logo, business stationery including business cards, and a web presence. I worked with Director, Tom Eaglestone to create an identity which reflected the professional, stylish approach to their field, but also the friendly, easy-to-work-with attitude the staff possess.

I was not convinced that it would be possible to create such a complete and appropriate identity for our young company with no experience of branding. Daniel Rutter is an Edinburgh-based photographer. He needed a brand new site to display his portfolio for potential clients and employers, and wanted the photos to speak for themselves. This meant an ultra-simple approach to design, with no elements which might detract from the photography, and a clean, easy to use menu system. Daniel recognised that ease of use is the key to a successful online portfolio, and asked Nonimage to create his vision.

Thomas Haywood Photography

Thomas Haywood is an Edinburgh photographer who specialises in (but is not limited to) Weddings/Civil Partnerships, corporate events, sports, portraiture, reportage, landscapes and still-life.

Thomas wanted a professional website to showcase his portfolio, as well as display sets of photos from events for his clients to see, and also some personal sets for friends and family. The site will also shortly launch a stock photography section featuring a hige number of Thomas’ photographs for sale and license.

He also required a printed calendar to be produced, for promotional use in 2008.

Black Tape Club

Black Tape is a monthly indie/rock/dance/soul club night in Edinburgh. They wanted a simple site to post news about the club, show photos from the club, host a mailing list form, etc. They also wanted a nice(r) design for their myspace page.

They also wanted full colour A6 flyers to advertise the club.

DD Property Maintenance is a maintenance, renovation and decorating business in Cheshire. They wanted professional business cards and stationery to mark them out from the crowd in the world of tradesmen. This also necessitated a logo design. After stationery etc, the company decided they wanted a simple, professional, one page website to enhance their image online.

Nope Industries

Nope Industries wanted to completely revamp their branding to create coherence across the different facets of their organisation. They needed a logo for the company as a whole, and then logos for each of the divisions within that. These logos needed to retain the feel of the main logo, but be instantly recognisable in their own right. These logos will appear on stationery, websites, clothing, banners and other mediums. Nope also needed a corporate landing page to showcase the different facets to their company. Work has begun on overhauling all existing sites within the organisation, and creating sites for the facets which do not currently have on. Nope Industries are a niche sports company who run websites, events and teams.
