Journal / WhatTheFont for iPhone

An free iPhone app worth using?

The MyFonts tool WhatTheFont is a handy little tool I’ve used a couple of times. It allows you upload an image of type, or enter the URL of an image online, and it will attempt to recognise the font used.

What is going to be even handier is the new WhatTheFont for iPhone. This free app allows you to either take a photo with the build in camera, or choose one from your library. The app will then upload the image to WhatTheFont servers, allow you to choose letters, and then it will attempt to recognise the font used.

I’ve tried it twice and it recognised the font easily each time.

With this app in your pocket at all times, I can see it getting a lot more use than that stupid free game you downloaded.

Wow, that’s exactly what I’d been looking for! I was trying to identify a font using myfonts.com without success. Will give it a go later on :-)
