This all started with Ratatouille, they included the phonetic spelling under the title in the same way, which I suppose was fair enough as it’s a big word which a lot of kids wouldn’t have come across before, and with a French spelling, but yeah (ee-gor) is taking the piss a bit. Plus it looks crap.
